Our villas in South Goa

Are our villas in Palolem itself?

Not necessarily. This page lists our villas across South Goa, and each card above shows the village the villa is in. If a villa is in Benaulim, for example, Palolem is a day trip, not a walk: Goa Tourism puts Patnem, the beach near Palolem, about 42 km from Colva, and Benaulim is less than 2 km south of Colva. Check the location on the card before you book.

What is Palolem like?

Palolem is a white-sand beach on a blue bay between two headlands, in Canacona, Goa's southernmost taluka. Goa Tourism describes it as a fishing beach with small wooded islands off the northern headland, shacks selling seafood, souvenirs and clothes, and fishermen who will take you out to spot dolphins.

It is quieter after dark than North Goa. Goa Tourism notes a 10 pm ban on loud music in the area, and Palolem is known for silent noise parties, where guests dance to DJs on their own headphones. Beach huts and family rooms line the bay, and the cove of Colomb to the south is quieter still.

How do you get to Palolem?

Fly into Dabolim, or take the train to Canacona or Madgaon. Palolem is 40 km from Margao and more than 70 km from Panaji by Goa Tourism's figures, and Dabolim is 24.4 km from Margao. Mopa, the northern airport, is in Pernem taluka on the Goa-Maharashtra border, about 50 km from Dabolim, according to a PTI report, so it adds a long drive.

Canacona station is 3 km from Palolem, says Goa Tourism. Gomantak Times notes that very few trains stop at Canacona, so many travellers get off at Madgaon Junction, where several trains stop. Regular buses run from Margao to Canacona village, and taxis and autos run from Margao to the beach.
